TERM & CONDITIONS
1. ENROLMENT
Enrolment with Pathway First Language College can be made on the website, by email, fax, phone, post or via an accredited agent. Course places will not be confirmed until payment has been received in full by Pathway First Language College.
2. PAYMENT
Payment must be made to Pathway First Language College at least 14 days before the student's start date in British pounds (GBP) by: UK bank cheque, banker's draft or bank transfer.
Students are responsible for all bank charges, both in the country of origin and from England.
The course price does not include any of the following: textbooks, external exam fees, personal/medical insurance or travel costs. Students are recommended to take out their own medical and personal insurance, including insurance to cover possible cancellation.
3. REFUND POLICY
Requests for cancellation and refunds will only be considered if they are in writing with supported documentary evidence.
(a) Visa refusal
On production of the original visa refusal letter Pathway First Language College will fully refund the tuition fees, less a £100 administration fee and any bank charges incurred in transferring the money back to the source bank account.
(b) Cancellation
Cancellation made more than two weeks before the course start date will be entitled to a full refund of fees paid, less £100 administration fee.
Cancellation made less than two weeks before the course start date will be entitled to a 50% refund of fees paid.
(c) One-to-one tuition
A one-to-one lesson can only be postponed or cancelled if the College is advised two working days in advance. If you arrive late for a lesson, the missing minutes from your class will not be credited.
d) Transfer of fees
Tuition fees and deposits are not returnable or transferable, either in full or in part. They are only valid for the person specified.
No refund will be given in the event of:
. Any student being asked to leave the school because of gross misconduct.
. Any student being asked to leave the country by the British Authorities
. Cancellation after the course has started.
. Any student being refused re-entry, if they leave the UK during the course.
. A refusal by the British Authorities to provide a visa extension.
You are advised to take out insurance, so as to avoid loss if you have to cancel or finish your course.
Pathway First Language College reserves the right to cancel or alter the time of a course where there are circumstances beyond the School's control, or where the course itself is undersubscribed. The School will offer alternative provision or a refund, as it deems appropriate. The School also reserves the right to change the location of a course within central Birmingham.
4. ACCOMODATION
Although Pathway First Language College make every effort to assist with your ideal accommodation, if you are not happy with your accommodation during your stay we will always try to make alternative arrangements.
5. STUDENT RECORDS
Pathway First Language College will collect and maintain your personal information lawfully and fairly, in accordance with the 1998 Data Protection Act. This information will be protected against loss and theft or unauthorised access, disclosure, copying or modification. It will not be supplied to third parties, except authorised legal entities in England.
You are responsible for providing Pathway First Language College with accurate and up-to-date information about your address, phone numbers, email address and emergency contact details in the UK and your home country whilst you are studying at the School.
6. VISAS
Some students require visas for the UK. You are advised to visit the United Kingdom government website (www.ukvisas.gov.uk) or contact your nearest British embassy, consulate or high commission to check on current visa requirements.
7. ATTENDANCE AND CONDUCT
All students are required to attend their classes regularly and on time. Absence due to sickness or accident is not refundable.
One-to-one students who are late for a class will not be credited with the time missed due to their lateness.
The School reserves the right to refuse admission to any student or to dismiss any student in the event of misconduct. In such instances there will be no refund of tuition fees.
8. COURSE ALLOCATION AND CLASS TIMES
The times of your class will not alter unless authorised formally by the College.
9. PUBLICITY
Pathway First Language College may from time to time take photographs of students for promotional purposes. By enrolling at the School you accept that any photographs taken of you by Waterloo School of English may be used for promotional purposes.
10. DATA PROTECTION
You agree that Pathway First Language College keeps your records on its computerised system. The information we hold about you is confidential and we will not sell, trade or rent it to any other parties of any kind. We will only disclose it outside our School if:
(a) we have to use third parties for certain services, in which case we will always do so in accordance with the applicable law and will take reasonable precautions to ensure that the service provider protects your personal information as the law permits or requires it, or
(b) any regulatory or governmental body requests or requires it, even without your consent.
We will use your information for the following purposes:
(a) to process your application for the administration of your course;
(b) to provide you with the best possible service whilst you are a student at our School;
(c) to tell you about our promotions and new products at Pathway First Language College and
(d) to provide data for statistical analysis.
11. LIABILITY
Pathway First Language College, its staff and representatives will not be liable for loss, damage or injury to persons or property however caused, except where such liability is expressly imposed by English law.
