ON COURSE WELFARE

When you arrive at the college you will be met by a member of the International Team, who will introduce you to your tutor and arrange for your enrolment on your chosen course.

The International Welfare Manager is available to give advice and help that you need on a range of issues that will enable you to settle into the College and Birmingham. The welfare services available for international students are as follows:

on course welfare

•  Arrangements of suitable accommodation.
•  Free additional support for computing skills
•  Help and advice in extending the student visa.
•  Help with registration with a Doctor, Dentist or other Health Bodies.
•  Organise Social Events.
•  Arrange appointments with college Careers and Counselling Service.
•  Help arrange banking services.
(If you can open an account with a Multi-National Bank in your home country that operates in the UK this would be beneficial).
•  Help with arranging instalments with course fees.
•  Advice and help given to progress into Higher Education.

All international students on a course longer than six months are entitled to receive free medical care, however all prescriptions must be paid for. Students from EU countries are normally covered under a reciprocal medical agreement between member states. Please obtain appropriate certificates from the authorities in your country before travelling.

There will be a course tutor appointed to you who will help you with your studies.
